Working Safely With Dogs
This course is designed to give the student the knowledge, skills and understanding of how health and safety legislation applies to the safe management and care of dogs.
Having a robust understanding of health & safety issues and mitigation of associated professional risks can only improve a company profile and enhance customer confidence.
The course is available at our base or we can come to an organisational venue
4 hours which can be split into bespoke sessions upon request
The course is delivered using integrated training and assessment to ensure the best possible learning experience.
QUALIFICATION & RECERTIFICATION
Successful candidates will receive a certificate from UK Rural Skills which is valid for 3 years.
Identify the roles and responsibilities for the health, safety and welfare in relation to working with dogs
Comply with relevant animal health and welfare legislation, national legislation, local policies and codes of practice relating to dogs, at all times
Maintain the work environment to the standard of health, safety and security to meet legal and organisational requirements
Deal with identified hazards promptly in accordance with legal requirements whilst working with dogs
Know the procedures for responding to accidents and incidents in the workplace
Promptly and accurately report to the appropriate person when working conditions do not conform to legal requirement
Record information about health, safety and security in the work environment accurately, legibly and completely
Maintain records of incidents and accidents which are complete, accurate and legible
